Artist's Statement:
Sometimes you just have to create art by "just playing"!

"Triffling With Triangles" was inspired by a Keiko Goke design from her book "Patchwork Quilt" [pages 42-43].
After I had finished working on the two companion pieces "Me and Myself" and "Myself and I", I decided to use some of the leftover scraps of fabric and to create my own version of Keiko's triangle design.

Thank you Keiko - this was fun to make!

Techniques:
Pieced and quilted by machine.  Embellishments of brass, copper, and aluminum washers from the hardware store were stitched on by hand with metallic thread.  Three separate triangles were made as stand-alone pieces, and then the three triangles were hand-stitched joined together.

Materials:

Fabrics used were commercial cottons and hand-dyed cottons.  Cotton and monofilament/nylon threads were used for machine piecing and quilting.  Embellishments of metal beads, brass - copper - and aluminum washers from the hardware store were stitched on by hand with metallic thread.  Several layers of batting and fusible fleece were used to make the piece stiff enough to support itself.
