I
love the multiple optical illusions that are created when you stand away
from this piece, and as you move closer to
view it. My husband calls it a "fiber eye chart".
Techniques:
A
class I took from Connie Pomering inspired the design. The
piece was machine pieced and quilted. Each of the black-and-white
pieces is individually stitched together.
Materials:
Fabrics
used were commercial cotton fabrics. Cotton and monofilament/nylon
threads were used for the piecing and quilting. Flannel and
polyester batting were both used for the middle layer.
